This week we received some recognition in CRN magazine for our innovative work on a disaster recovery solution for think Procurement. The article focused on the ‘hundreds of thousands’ of dollars that the solution saved think.
think have been a successful consumer of AWS services but required a solution that would provide them an out of cloud copy of their data. We partnered with Zadara to meet the needs of the think business. Our solution enabled think to provide a disaster recovery solution far quicker and at a far lower cost than a traditional on-premises solution.
The near-cloud connectivity of the Zadara storage platform enabled the think AWS resources to access the Zadara storage as if it was local to the compute instances. This storage can then be presented to an alternative cloud environment, such as Azure, in the event of a disaster recovery event. Unlike many other storage providers, however, Zadara supports a cloud like consumption model so there is no vendor lock in to their solution.
RedBear IT’s background and expertise in cloud, enterprise storage and infrastructure meant that we were able to quickly evaluate and enable the Zadara solution for think. We are now expecting to replicate the solution for some of our other clients, aligned to their business needs.
